Working with a Large Format, 125 yr old Kodak Century 8x10 studio camera to create Wetplate Collodion images (plates of blackened steel coated with Collodion, made light sensitive with silver nitrate). This process dates back to the 1850’s.
Jon creates portraits that look like they're right out of the 1800’s!

There is a modern feel to this alternative process, along with Jon’s skilled eye and vision, that is moving and heartfelt.

Jon’s love of photography dates back to when he was a boy. His father was a painter that would photograph nature scenes for later reference when he painted his works.
Jon’s first camera was a Pentax K1000 with one lens. This first camera would go on to serve as his “go-to” tool for his early work. Jon learned the core essential skills that would serve him well in the photography world for the next 30 years.

Jon continues to do Professional Photography work, and teach photography. He will also be doing Wetplate Collodion Workshops in the future. If you're interested in learning the process.
